"Above all, don't fear difficult moments. The best comes from them."

Excerpt from 'Restoring Your Soul Through Christmas Movies'-

Sometimes those of us who are Christians will make our own circumstances seem worse just by looking at them in the natural, instead of choosing to see them from God's perspective as scripture teaches us.

When we choose to view our circumstances through His eyes our impossibilities suddenly become possibilities.

Jesus said unto him, "If thou canst believe, all things are possible to him that believeth."

In reality, it may look like we are sinking in quicksand, but God's love, grace and mercy is strong enough to save us, if only we'd stop letting our emotions control the situation.

The Encyclopedia of Britannica's scientific explanation for being in quicksand is this:

A person can get stuck in quicksand, but they cannot sink below the surface because of body buoyancy (a body floats or rises when submerged in a fluid). Struggling, however, can lead to losing balance and possible drowning.

Focusing on our fear within a situation does not change the outcome, it only drags us down deeper; to climb out of our struggle depends solely on Whom we are focused on.

One important element to also understand here, is that our spiritual maturity will elevate more through our circumstances, and victory comes from how we withstand those obstacles confronting us.
